Terms & Conditions
Booking:• 25% deposit required to place your booking.• Full payment for tour required 4 weeks prior to tour.• Deposits are non-refundable.• Payment details will be sent once inquiry has been received.• The 4x4 Experience reserves the right to cancel or alter any tour or route at any time. This may be due to fire, flood or other causes beyond reasonable control. In the event of a cancelled tour, a refund or partial refund may be offered. • The 4x4 Experience my not accept a booking if they deem the vehicle or participant is not suitable for the tour.• We recommend you consider travel insurance for any unforeseen circumstances that effect your tour.
Vehicles:• Tours are designed for 4x4 vehicles with high clearance, low range gearing unless specified on tour description.• A UHF radio with an external antenna is required in every vehicle.
• A Fire Extinguisher must be fitted to every vehicle.
• A tyre compressor and tyre pressure gauge will be required to deflate and reinflate tyres for off road use.• The vehicle must be in good mechanical condition before the tour. It is recommended that the vehicle has a pre-trip inspection and any required maintenance/repairs are performed by a recognised 4wd specialist mechanic before the trip.• During the tour you are responsible for maintenance of your vehicle.• In the event of a breakdown or damage to a vehicle, The 4x4 Experience will assist you where possible to fix the vehicle. The 4x4 Experience is not responsible for any repair or recovery costs.• We strongly recommend roadside assistance in case of vehicle failure. • Ensure your vehicle insurance will cover your vehicle and its contents while on tour.
Camping:• Our tagalong tours are designed for you to bring your vehicle, camping gear, food and cooking facilities. This is an opportunity to use all your equipment with support from your guide. • Pack for all weather conditions.
• Try to avoid over packing – sometimes less is more. The more you bring the more work in setting up/packing up.
Advice:• As part of your upcoming tour, you are welcome to use The 4x4 Experience for advice on your vehicle, camping and food setup. With years of industry experience, we can offer unbiased advice for what can help make your trip more enjoyable.
Photography:• The 4x4 Experience will take photos to use for promotion and marketing during your tour. If you prefer not to be included in these images, please inform The 4x4 Experience in writing before your tour.
Pets on Tour – Important InformationSome of our tours offer the option to bring your pet along. Please carefully review the conditions below to determine if your pet is suitable for our tours:• Pets must be restrained on a lead at all times and supervised by an adult – no exceptions.• Your pet must be well-behaved and under your control at all times.• Aggressive pets are not allowed under any circumstances.• You must clean up after your pet at all times – no exceptions. Pet owners are responsible for disposing of waste in appropriate locations.• At night, your pet must be contained within your accommodation, to ensure others can move freely around the camp.• Be prepared for natural hazards such as ticks, snakes, and wild animal baits used in some of the areas we travel through. We recommend the use of a muzzle to protect your pet.• Please note that you may not be able to access some points of interest if they are not pet-friendly or designated no-pets allowed.• The 4x4 Experience is not liable for any injury to or caused by pets, including but not limited to damage to property, injury to individuals, or harm to the pet itself. All pets are the sole responsibility of their owners at all times.• The tour guide reserves the right to evict any guest whose pet is deemed noisy, disruptive, aggressive, or becomes the subject of complaints from other guests. It is the pet owner's sole responsibility to control and manage their pet. If, in the tour guide’s opinion, this responsibility is not met to an acceptable level, the guest and their pet may be removed from the tour immediately.
Legal Stuff:• The participant acknowledges and accepts the inherent risks of the proposed recreational and leisure activity provided by The 4x4 Experience and the possibility of personal injury or property damage or loss resulting therefrom.• All participants agree to indemnify The 4x4 Experience against all claims made by any other person against The 4x4 Experience in respect of injury, loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the participant’s failure to comply with the rules and/or directions of The 4x4 Experience, its management or staff.• By participating in this activity, the participant acknowledges and accepts that The 4x4 Experience does not accept liability whatsoever from: o All manner of accidents that may result in injury or worse and/or property damage or loss of any kind therefrom. o Inability of the participant to continue in their present work or profession as a result of any injury sustained. o Any injury or death or loss of any kind that may be attributed to acts of terrorism. o The forces of nature, including, but not limited to earthquake, fire, flood and landslide. o Accident to or failure of, machinery or equipment or industrial action that may cause injury or worse or loss of any kind.• If the participant suffers any injury or illness, the participant agrees and consents that The 4x4 Experience may provide evacuation, first aid and medical treatment at the participant’s expense.• The participant releases, waives and forever holds harmless The 4x4 Experience from all claims for any loss sustained by him/her in connection with The 4x4 Experience activities.• The participant agrees that the terms and conditions contained herein may be pleaded as a bar to any action, suit or proceedings taken at any time by the participant against The 4x4 Experience arising out of or as a consequence of participation in The 4x4 Experience activities.
