Spend the Easter long weekend exploring some of Victoria's most historic and scenic High Country while enjoying the comfort of an exclusive private base camp.
This unique tour is based on private property with exclusive access for our group. Set up camp once and leave everything behind as we spend each day exploring the spectacular tracks, historic gold mining relics, mountain huts, rivers and breathtaking lookouts surrounding Aberfeldy, Walhalla and the Victorian High Country.
After each day's adventure, return to camp to relax around the campfire, swap stories from the day's drive and enjoy the peace and privacy that only a secluded private campsite can provide.
Whether you're new to High Country touring or looking to discover some hidden gems with experienced local guidance, this Easter adventure offers the perfect combination of great driving, fascinating history and relaxing camping.

Note: We are camping on Private Property.
There are no facilities and your camp setup must be fully self-contained.
Trip Dates:
Day 1 – Welcome to Base Camp
Meet near Erica Thursday afternoon before travelling together to our private campsite in the Aberfeldy region. After setting up camp and enjoy a campfire and get to know your fellow campers.
Day 2 - Settle In & Explore Local Area
For those already in camp its a slow relaxed start while those who cannot make it on the Thursday are escorted to camp to setup before we head out for an afternoon exploring some local attractions returning to camp for evening around the campfire.
Day 3 – Goldfields & Mountain Views
A full day exploring as we head to historic township of Walhalla and the spectacular surrounding High Country. We'll discover a few hidden gems that many visitors never see while travelling a selection of scenic 4WD tracks that showcase the beauty of the region.
Day 3 – Huts, Rivers & Hidden Gems
We'll venture deeper into the surrounding mountains, discovering historic huts, beautiful rivers, and some of the locations that make this region so special. There will be plenty of opportunities for photos, short walks and learning about the area's fascinating history.
Day 5 – Final Adventure
After a relaxed breakfast, we'll pack up camp before leaving our private base camp and heading back towards Rawson finishing in the late morning giving you plenty of time to head home and unpack.
What you need to bring:
A high clearance 4x4 vehicle, a vehicle mounted UHF radio for communication, All Terrain or Mud Terrain tyres, a fire extinguisher and a compressor with tyre gauge to inflate/deflate tyres.
All camping equipment including accommodation, bedding, fridge, cooking equipment, cooking stove, camp chair, etc
Food and drinks for the duration of the trip.
A self contained toilet and suitable privacy tent.
And a sense of adventure!
