Dargo to Mansfield via Wonnangatta Station & Craig’s Hut plus heaps more.
4 Days and 4 nights vehicle based camping
Starting our journey in the township of Dargo, home to one of the most iconic pubs in the Victorian High Country, we head into the remote gold-mining settlement of Talbotville. From there, we follow the winding Crooked River before descending into the legendary Wonnangatta Valley, where we explore the old station homestead and immerse ourselves in the region’s rich and mysterious history.
Climbing out of the valley, we rise onto the Howitt Plains, then travel across to King Billy and along the Bluff Track, stopping at several historic High Country huts along the way. Dropping back into another valley, we discover waterfalls, more secluded huts, and classic mountain campsites ideal for unwinding in the alpine wilderness.
Our journey continues to the famous Craig’s Hut—the iconic film set from The Man from Snowy River—before we conclude our High Country adventure in Mansfield.
