Join us for an unforgettable outback getaway through South Australia's most spectacular and remote destinations.
Our journey begins in the southern Flinders Ranges, where we explore rugged national parks, working sheep stations, and iconic outback tracks. From there, we venture north, where towering ranges give way to the vast open outback, revealing hidden oasis nestled within the seemingly barren landscape.
As we loop back, we travel through modern mining towns and remote settlements, discovering the ambitious projects and pioneering spirit that have shaped this region for today's explorers. This is more than a trip—it's a deep dive into the heart of Australia's outback, where nature, history, and industry collide.
This adventure includes a mix bush camps, comfortable private camps stays and paid camp grounds making it ideal for those with off-road caravans, camper trailers, and those new to 4WD touring.

Outback Getaway – South Australia's Hidden Gems
Pre-Tour Meet & Greet – Cradock Hotel & Campsite
We kick things off with a relaxing evening at the historic Cradock Hotel, where you’ll enjoy a great meal and the chance to meet your fellow travellers. Camp beside the pub and settle in for the exciting journey ahead.
Day 1 – Through the Flinders Ranges to Wilpena
We begin our adventure by heading to Wilpena Pound Camp Ground from the western side of the Flinders, offering stunning views as the ranges rise from the outback. After setting up camp for a three-night stay, we explore the local area exploring some history and local attractions.
Day 2 - We head out for a full day exploring the spectacular Flinders Ranges National Park. Travelling through mountain ranges, picturesque valleys, and historic early settlement sites, there will be plenty of opportunities to take in the breathtaking scenery.
Day 3 – Skytrek Adventure
We take on the famous Skytrek 4WD track at Willow Springs Station—an unforgettable journey past old huts, natural springs, mustering yards, and panoramic lookouts over Wilpena Pound and the surrounding ranges.
Day 4 – Wilpena Pouund to Beltana
Heading north, we visit the charming outback town of Blinman, followed by a stop at the iconic Prairie Hotel in Parachilna. From there, we make our way to the historic township of Beltana, where we camp for the night and explore the beautifully restored buildings and rich heritage.
Day 5 – Beltana to Arkaroola
Leaving Beltana, we travel to Leigh Creek to restock supplies then it’s on to the spectacular wilderness sanctuary of Arkaroola for a two-night stay.
Day 6 – Exploring Arkaroola
Spend the day discovering Arkaroola’s rugged terrain and geological wonders. Highlights include the Ochre Walls, historic gold mines, natural springs, and breathtaking lookouts accessible via thrilling 4WD tracks.
Day 7 – Arkaroola to Farina
Leaving Arkaroola, we rejoin the Outback Highway and head further north to Farina, a fascinating abandoned town along the old Ghan line. We set camp for a two-night stay and explore the remarkably preserved ruins and stories of this 1870s-era settlement.
Day 8 – Farina to the Oodnadatta Track
A full day outing we explor the lower section of the Oodnadatta Track, visiting unique desert sculptures, natural springs, and historic railway sidings. A refreshing dip at Coward Springs awaits for our lunch stop before returning to our camp in Farina.
Day 9 – Farina to Cradock Hotel
The day begins with a visit to the famous Farina Bakery before we begin our journey south. Along the way, we'll stop at the striking Ochre Cliffs and visit a remote outback lake, showcasing the diverse and ever-changing landscapes of South Australia's outback. As the day draws to a close, we arrive at the Cradock Hotel for our final night together—a fitting setting to reflect on the adventures, friendships, and memories made throughout this unforgettable journey.

What you need to bring:A high clearance 4x4 vehicle, a vehicle mounted UHF radio for communication, a fire extinguisher, Suspension upgrade recommended, All Terrain or Mud Terrain tyres and a compressor with tyre gauge to inflate/deflate tyres.All camping equipment including accommodation, bedding, fridge, cooking equipment, cooking stove, camp chair, etcFood and drinks for the duration of the trip.And a sense of adventure!

No pets allowed as we will be travelling in National Parks.
